Barcelona Are Ready To Let Malcom Go in January

Barcelona are prepared to let Malcom go during the month of January, but only if they can get an offer that exceeds €41 million which they initially paid for the forward from Brazil during last summer.

Malcom at Barcelona

At the age of 21, Malcom was ready to join Roma in Serie A from Bordeaux before Barcelona decided to swoop in during the eleventh hour with a bid to transfer him to Camp Nou. Unfortunately, Ernesto Valverde (the Barcelona coach) appeared to suggest that he didn’t want Malcom to be seen as a signing made for Barcelona.

Since the transfer took place, Valverde has given Malcom a handful of opportunities to prove his worth at Barcelona. He only managed to make a total of 10 appearances in all Barcelona’s competitions where he came in as a substitute a total of 6 times. His last appearance occurred during the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Levante during the Copa del Rey where he was sent off during the second half following a failed one-on-one encounter earlier in the match.

Valverde hasn’t selected Malcom since he was surprisingly excluded from the Barcelona squad for the second leg when they played against Levante, while Barcelona needed to come from behind in order to reach the quarterfinals of the tournament they managed to win for the previous four seasons.

Malcom Prior to Barcelona

Before Malcom made the move to Barcelona, he received loads of interest from a wide variety of Italian and English clubs, including Arsenal, Tottenham, and Roma. He even received interest from a Chinese Super League. Sources that are extremely close to Malcom have stated that the winger would love to stay with the Barcelona side, but unfortunately, they recently admitted that he needs to leave this month.

Barcelona has no complaints regarding the attitude portrayed by Malcom. Despite several setbacks, he was included in multiple match days and suffered tow injuries to his hamstring. However, he has never complained and continued to work hard within the Barcelona squad. Things seemed to have turned around when he eventually scored a goal against Inter Milan during the Champions League match in November. However, he also suffered an injury during the game which set him back even further. Moving to Camp Nou was obviously a dream come true for the young player, but circumstances forced him to reanalyse his next move if Barcelona receives the offer they want. What’s even more surprising is that China made grab him before its too late.

Thankfully, Malcom’s future still looks bright, and anyone has the opportunity to grab his exceptional talent and skills if they have the money for it. The Brazilian forward will gel quite well with any Premier League squad and has the potential to shine if he gets transferred to China. It’s essentially up to who will provide the necessary funds the quickest before its too late. Big things are still to come for this young footballer.
